Elizabeth Brown writes picture books and middle grade books. She earned her MFA in Creative Writing from Goddard College and is a part-time professor of writing, literature, and the humanities as well as a musician. Her debut picture book, DANCING THROUGH FIELDS OF COLOR: THE STORY OF HELEN FRANKENTHALER, was published by Abrams Books for Young Readers in March 2019 and is a New York Public Library Best Book of 2019, a Junior Library Guild Selection for 2019, the Society of Midland Authors Honoree for Children’s Nonfiction, and A Mighty Girl 2019 Book of the Year. Elizabeth has other books to release soon, including LIKE A DIAMOND IN THE SKY (Bloomsbury, 2022) – a nonfiction biography of Jane Taylor, the poet and author of the words to “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” and THE WORLD ENTIRE (Chronicle Books, 2023). She is represented by Sean McCarthy at Sean McCarthy Literary. Elizabeth is a member of SCBWI.
